INDEX 2014 is upon us, and when the nonwovens industry convenes in Geneva, Switzerland this month it will be a time for companies to introduce new products and technologies, announce new investments and, of course, find out what is going on with their customers and their competition.

Over four days, from April 8-11 the exhibition will bring together all the players in the nonwovens industry from raw material producers to manufacturers, finishers to converters, to environmental protection, measuring and testing equipment manufacturers, to trade associations and journals. Over 13,000 visitors will hit the INDEX show floor to catch a glimpse of the future of nonwovens and see first-hand what the leading experts in the field have to offer. As this issue went to press nearly 600 exhibitors had already confirmed their attendance.

INDEX 2014 will host a series of special events providing an additional platform to share knowledge and to network with business contacts from around the world. For one, EDANA is organizing a conference on the major applications and latest trends in nonwovens for the automotive industry. Keynote speakers will include key decision-makers from the entire supply chain including OEMs and Tier 1 and 2 manufacturers, nonwoven and raw materials suppliers.

In addition, The European Geotextiles Association will host a workshop open to all visitors featuring a number of keynote speakers that will cover nonwovens-related innovations in the field.

One highlight for the packaging industry is a conference dedicated to innovations in the field of packaging with leading speakers from the industry that will provide market and practical research data on this dynamic nonwovens sector. As Dr. George Kellie, director of Kellie Solutions explains, “Packaging applications of nonwovens are growing at a strong pace with a wide range of exciting applications.”
